Hello,

My name is Tim Waterschoot, I was born in 1977 and I am married with Annemie. We have two daughters and a son Loena, Lara and Matisse. I work as a Truck driver, so teaching and practicing Martial Arts is a hobby and a passion, not a job!

I started with Ju Jitsu in 1983, when I was 6 years old, with my parents (Bob Waterschoot and Marleen De Craecker) who own their own dojo since 1979. I achieved my black belt in Ju Jitsu in 1993, 16 years at the time. Currently I am still an active Instructor in Ju Jitsu and Shindõ (a Ju Jitsu Style developed by my dad, mum and myself).

Around the same period (1993) I started to learn Escrima with my mum (originally an art from the Philippines, in which my mum can be considered the Belgian pioneer). The Senior Instructor to guide us was Kaj Westersund and Esa Halminen from Finland, both recognised Instructors under Jay Dobrin within the BIFF Escrima System.

Additionally I have been training many years with Punong Guro Jeff Espinous. Although I am not part of the IKAEF anymore, I have learned a lot from Jeff for which I thank him.

In 2001 I achieved with Kaj Westersund my Instructor grading in BIFF Escrima.

Since 2003 I am a private student of Master & Chief Instructor Jay Dobrin in his BIFF Escrima Fighting System.

On the 6th of September 2008 I have been given the honour of receiving my Full Instructors Certificate by Master's Jay Dobrin and Phil Chennery, which was presented to me by Grand Master Brian Jones at the end of that day's seminar.
